Hair salon in Nogi

栃木県野木町につくった小さな美容室。

特注の木製建具で「２つの窓辺」をつくり、美容室としては最小限の面積ながら奥行きと居心地をつくり出すことを目指しました。

「髪を切る」という、おそらくずっと残り続けるであろう繊細な手作業の仕事場。そのような空間にふさわしいよう、シンプルで明るい店内に、緑色の木製建具・染色したモルタル床など職人による手作業の跡が残る仕上げを採用しています。

By creating “two window spaces” with custom-made wooden fittings, we sought to bring a sense of depth and comfort to the salon despite its minimal footprint.

A workspace for the delicate, hands-on craft of haircutting—an act that will likely endure far into the future. To create a setting worthy of such a craft, the simple, bright interior incorporates finishes that retain traces of the artisan’s hand, including green wooden fixtures and stained mortar flooring.
